What our rubbish removal service covers
Rubbish removal is the "man and van" alternative to skip hire: instead of a container sitting on the street for a week while you fill it, a licensed carrier arrives on an agreed date, loads everything into the van and leaves the space clear in one visit. Fridges and freezers add £15–£25 each for WEEE disposal, mattresses £10–£15, and plasterboard is charged by the bag because it has to go to a separate stream. Every load is tipped at a licensed waste transfer station, where it is sorted by material. Wood, metal, cardboard, hard plastics and green waste are separated and recycled; electricals are processed under the WEEE regulations; anything usable — furniture, bikes, tools — is set aside for reuse where a local charity or reuse shop will take it. Across a typical month well over half of what we collect by weight avoids landfill.
That matters for you as well as the environment. Under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 the householder has a legal duty of care to make sure their waste is passed to a licensed carrier. If an unlicensed "man with a van" fly-tips your sofa on a lane outside Snaith, the fine can come back to you. Do I need to bag or move anything before you come?
No. Everything can stay where it is — loft, garage, back bedroom, bottom of the garden. Charlotte loads from wherever the waste sits. If you want to bag loose items to keep the price down, that helps, but it is not required.
What can’t you take?
Asbestos, gas cylinders, wet paint and solvents, clinical or hazardous waste, and vehicle tyres in bulk. Everything else that normally comes out of a house, garden, garage or small business can go in the van. If in doubt, send a photo.
Will I get proof that my waste was disposed of legally?
Yes. A Waste Transfer Note naming CL Clearances, our licence number CBDU291452 and the disposal site is provided on request. Landlords, letting agents and businesses usually ask for one; householders are welcome to as well.
How quickly can you collect?
